Asbestos Analysis - Samples or materials can be analyzed using Asbestos Fiber Analysis (PLM Test Method).  This method will determine the presence of asbestos, and quantify the presence as a percentage %. Samples analyzed under PLM indicate either none detected, less than <1% asbestos, or greater than >1% asbestos. Depending on the analytical results, if asbestos is present, would trigger certain regulatory requirements or laws that must be implemented during the handling, work practices and disposal of the material. Asbestos Analysis Cost: $35.00 each sample for most materials (except flooring material is $50.00 each sample).

Lead Analysis - Paint chip samples can be analyzed using Lead in Paint 7400/7420 method. This method will determine the presence of lead, and quantify the presence as parts per million (PPM). All paint samples will have detectable levels of lead, however paint that contains lead concentrations greater than >5,000 PPM is considered to be lead-based paint. If paint contains lead concentrations greater than >5,000 PPM would trigger certain regulatory requirements or laws that must be implemented during the handling, work practices and disposal of the material. Lead Analysis Cost: $35.00 each sample.

Mold Analysis - Samples can be analyzed via Non-Viable Bulk (NVB) and Surface Substratum - Tape-Lift, Swab, Gypsum Board, Macrofungi, Wood Products. Samples analyzed under this method will determine exactly what species of mold is prevalent. Mold is naturally occurring and is found in all environments. However, some mold produce mycotoxins which may create special health concerns in susceptible individuals. Mold Analysis Cost: $70.00 each sample.

Sample Submittal Options/Conditions - Samples can be hand delivered to ERT, Inc. corporate office or mailed. To ensure sample integrity and analytical quality, clients are advised to follow the guidelines below when submitting samples. Please feel free to call us at (800) 660-1808 for additional information.

  1. All samples must be accompanied by proper documentation. Please download the ERT Chain of Custody form here. If you are unable to download this form please use your own sample submission form, but be specific and include all info.

  2. All samples shall be no larger than 1"x1" or the size of a U.S. Silver Dollar coin.  

  3. All samples must be clearly labeled and identifiable with the information provided on the Chain of Custody form. Please specify sample type, sample location, analysis requested and preference for reporting.

  4. Samples should be individually sealed and properly separated to avoid mixing or cross-contamination of samples.

  5. Samples should be adequately packaged to avoid physical damage to the contents.

  6. Payment is DUE at time of analysis. In order to avoid any unnecessary delays, please include check with samples at time of submittal. Please make all checks out to ERT and hand deliver or mail to our corporate office at: 6472 Camden Ave., Ste. 102B, San Jose CA USA 95120. ERT also accepts Visa and Master Cards as form of payment. Please include this information on the chain of custody form or you can call and process credit card information over the phone.

  7. Note: In the event ERT representatives are out of the office during normal business hours, or after hours and on weekends, samples or packages can be placed into sample drop box at exterior front door of Suite 102B that faces the parking lot. Samples can be simply slipped into through the door mail slot after hours or on weekends

  8. All samples will be analyzed within 2 to 3 working days upon receipt.

  9. Clients are encouraged to contact ERT to discuss any special issues regarding sampling or sample submission procedures.
